What storage diagnostics reveal
We check identifiers, configuration, available health indicators, read/write stability, boot regions and partition layout. This avoids replacing storage when the true cause is power, processor or software related.
When replacement is possible
Replacement storage must match the package, interface, configuration and platform requirements. Boot regions and layout are prepared before soldering; boot and stability are tested afterwards.
Data transfer and limits
Not every protected region can be cloned between chips. RPMB, unique keys and encrypted data may be tied to the original storage and processor, so data preservation is assessed separately.

Frequently asked questions
Does freezing always mean failed storage?
No. Power, processor, thermal and firmware faults can look similar, so diagnostics come first.
Can a larger storage chip be installed?
Sometimes, when the platform, bootloader, partition layout and available chip all support it.
Will data survive replacement?
Only when the original storage is readable and protected data can be transferred. This is assessed before replacement.
